March 2013 update from Founder and President
Appeal letter March, 2013
Hi friends well-wishers, donors, ladies and gentlemen. I am Joseph Tamba, founder and President of WAHA, the West Africa Handicap Association USA!
WAHA is a non- profit organization established here in the State of New York, mainly to help our less unfortunate disabled brothers and sisters here, Africa, and around the world who are of different categories of disabilities. Many are from different dysfunctional backgrounds in society, somehow left to fend on their own, and are even molested and neglected by their own families. This has caused them to become beggars and to be reduced to destitution in society, roaming here and there in the streets having nothing to do, most especially in Africa and other parts of the world today.
Though I am blessed to be here in the United States today, I’ve been one of the afflicted ones after nearly fifteen years in a refugee camp, where I was even a leader for the disabled in the camps.
Therefore, friends around the nation, this is a dream, a vision that God placed in my heart nearly twenty years ago +
Now I appeal to you to please help me accomplish this dream by helping my brothers and sisters in Africa and around the World, not forgetting the USA.
Please visit our website for more information, and be aware that without your help we cannot do it on our own, Therefore be a friend of WAHA today and help the thousands around the globe. In fact I just visited Africa in November 2012 and was asked by many disabled whom I visited, both in the capital and hundreds of miles in the North West of Liberia, to relay this plea to you to please help them with all the necessary needs you can find on our website:
We are here to find ways and means of bringing some sort of sanity and encouragement and relevant skill training that would enable the thousands of physically challenged persons to be self-supporting, self-sufficient, and self-reliant.
Motto: using what you have (skill training) to be self sustainable which means that disability is never inability.
Mission: to make the handicapped and unfortunate individuals of our society productive citizens, able to participate in the development of our nation. Please come to the aid of the disabled, I repeat for the word of God says “blessed is he that considereth the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble; the Lord will preserve him, and make him alive and he shall be blessed upon the earth thou wilt not deliver him to the will of his enemies” Psalm 41:1-2…. Thanks for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Joseph Tamba, president of WAHA-USA
